Got caught in the rain last night
pouring down on me so heavily
that I couldn’t bear
to be myself
below it
As I look up
There is a warm light
Coming from the sun above me
What will bring me back to it?
Shining brightly at the center
It is being careful
Gradually the sense of failure
seeps into my skin and courses through my veins
inescapable identity which fragments on the touch
splintering reality which cannot be held
loosely like the wind does guide
Broken windows and vacant homes
Memories left like vagrant bones
Special days have come and gone
And now the night is not so long
